part of my natural disaster series. only one (earth) more to go!!
thanks for all the favs and views for "giants" it was on page of "Popular 24 hours" for a brief amount of time, but that's the highest that I've ever been!
is my concept-director, who consults me on silhouette, colors, details, etc.. also does research for me, to understand the concept and "philosophy" behind each look
first one is icestorm. i designed a structural jacket with spiked collar and spike sleeves (ice crystals=sharp!!), the structural shape of the jacket is based off the structure off of. there is a sheer skirt is attached to the jacket that flows outwards (ice is clear), also because ice storms are formed by freezing rain and I wanted this portion to look a bit watery. the pants are printed with an ice texture (image farm8.staticflickr.com/7004/67…
, source www.flickr.com/photos/sandwich…
shoes are translucent, like ice! crystal beads are draped from the skirt to the top (also used for structural support). ice storms personified as "evil ice queen"
second one is blizzard/snow storm (blizzard is a severe snowstorm) the two designs are "sisters" so while ice storm is sleek and harsh, the blizzard is soft. The bottom silhouette is the same, as well as the collar portion. While icestorm is open in front, blizzard is open at the shoulders and sides. same as icestorm, we have the same sort of drape of beads, but instead they're large "snowballs" blizzard is personified as "traveler" blizzards are more immense and windy, hence the hood (it engulfs the model) and the larger shape of skirt as contrasted with icestorm.
edit: i just realized i forgot my signature. whoops.
