Yeah, I did hers last for just that reason and mine sucked... you have to take into account that her dress on the show was designed for little girls to think it's pretty.
There are lots of Rarity gala cosplays to draw inspiration from :) unfortunately for me, I like to design less over-the-top cosplays, but instead something that could pass as a cartoon-ish party dress

I personally like less over-the-top cosplays, because I always find that if you go too intense, it ends up look like a joke rather than something a real world character would wear, know what I mean? Though I think I have an idea....check back later today!!

Awesome! Yeah, I'm told I'm a lot like Rarity too!
Lol, surprisingly Lyra and Trixie are big fan favorites of a lot of bronies though.
They even made them into toys! I'm not entirely sure why though, they are quite random. =p
