challenge parameters: create a gym, winter, and summer uniform look, as well as one casual look based off the inspiration (which were interiors of schools). I chose this one cdn.archinect.net/images/1200x…
as my inspiration.
from left to right (more description for those curious)
-casual: i decided that the school uniform looks were going to be very austere and covered up, so I decided that the casual look will be the opposite. I decided to design a bralet top, that is worn underneath a sheer, avant-garde vest (it opens up in the front, is longer in the back). I was inspired by the V of the vanishing point for the vest. The leggings, I decided to make it a little more rock and roll as an act of "rebellion" against school uniforms; it features leather side panels, and is paneled (much like how the lockers "panel" the hallway walls); I decided to do a cut-out portion plus a sheer portion, which are inspired by the door in the inspiration picture, since the door=escape from school. Dark brown combat boots complete the look.
-gym: I wanted to keep the gym uniform as modest as the rest of the uniforms, so I opted for a high-neck t-shirt. The school crest is the graphic on the front, the lines on the sleeves mimic the other uniforms bow-tie thing. The loose shorts are printed like the hallways' floor. Knee-high socks, and plaid sneakers finsih the look.
-winter: the dress shirt is a high-neck white button up (long sleeves..can't really tell) with small ruffles at the collar. The bow-tie thing is light blue. The jacket is a plaid (inspired by the grid-work of the wall plus the different square and rectangle shapes in the picture ie the lockers, the floor, the ceiling) with blue lapels, and blue pocket details (school crest is on the breast pocket). The lapels are done in a deep V formation (again, the vanishing point in the picture), and I kept the austerity of the inspiration pick by pairing the look with a grey pleated below-the-knee-length skirt, black tights, and black oxfords.
-summer: the dress shirt is very similar to the winter's looks, except the sleeves are short and feature the same sort of ruffle detail. the bow-tie worn with it is in a blue. The vest is grey, and features the school crest on the breast pocket. The skirt a pleated, knee-length plaid. I decided traditional Mary Janes were boring, so I decided leather ankle-strap flats as an alternative.
